For several years we have enjoyed this rental home on Captiva. American Realty was very responsive to our needs. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat.

Thanks to the relentless efforts of Lisa Wheeler, we were able to salvage our 2022 vacation and re-visit Captiva in 2023. When the travel insurance failed to cover Ian’s impact to our vacation, Lisa never gave up on us and provided a great place for us this year and when mobility issues presented a challenge, Lisa found a place with an elevator. All told, this great vacation would not have happened for our family this year had it not been for the extra effort by Lisa Wheeler and her staff. Thank You all!

We have stayed at sunny Days now 5 times. Each time the house does not let us down. Great location to restaurants and the beach. The house works great for us, since we have 4 couples. Everyone has their own queen or King bead and private bathroom.

We needed to contact American Realty to request coffe cups. There were only 4. American was super responsive and brought over new cups that day.

I recommend this house to anyone who wants to be within easy walking distance to everything in Captiva.

Our family of 7 enjoyed every moment at Sunny Days. The home is very spacious and everyone has their own bed/bath! We loved the screened porch for relaxing in the evening. The pool area was amazing and the pool was always cleaned each morning. It was a three minute walk to the beach and the home was well stocked with beach chairs and a wagon. We also walked to restaurants and the general store. Overall a fantastic stay!

We were finally able to get back to one of our favorite vacation spots! Entire family was able to make it and even added extra guests. Great house, fantastic location! The 8 beach chairs and wagon were perfect for beach. Had 2 issues but maintenance took care of quickly. Hoping to get back soon!

Our family just returned from a fabulous vacation at Sunny Days rental on Captiva Island. It was thoroughly enjoyable in every respect! Prior to our visit, our real estate agent, Lisa Wheeler, stayed in constant touch with us regarding questions and preparations. Whatever we needed was quickly addressed. We were assured there were services, restaurants, and shops that were open and running near our rental house. Although the area was hard hit by the storms, it was obvious that businesses and local people are trying to recover. We ate at local restaurants and were consistently impressed with the quality and service we enjoyed. We had lovely weather, and enjoyed all of the activities on the island. The house itself, Sunny Days, is one we have visited before. Everyone in our family loves it from the five-year-old up to the grandparents! It is bright and roomy, with attractive bedrooms and play areas. The pool and hot tub provided hours of entertainment for the kids. Any concerns we had during our stay were quickly addressed by staff at the local rental office. We love the central location of the house to restaurants and shops. We could easily walk to many destinations. At the end of our week, everyone wished to stay longer. We certainly hope to return again to Sunny Days!

Huge beautiful space for 8 of us to reconnect and relax. Coffee on the porch in the morning , beach mid day, pool in afternoon, dinner in grill or out. Great times!!

We had a good week - all 9 of us. The house was perfect - so modern and clean. Lots of towels, toys. Beach wagon was great (although it needs air in the tires), fooseball fun. The kitchen was well-stocked with so much silverware and dishes, pots and pans, 2 fridges. This was the best house we've rented in 10 years. This one is a winner.

We had a wonderful time staying in Sunny Days with our sons and their families over Christmas week. The house was a great size for all of us. Because I had been injured in July, the elevator was essential. Our grandchildren spent a lot of time in the pool and also used the pool table and ping pong tables. The only disappointment was that the dishwasher was unusable all week. Washing dishes by hand for a full House was not fun!

We rented the place for a week and everyone had an absolute blast. A hot tub and pool function perfectly and stayed warm, the basement was full of activity into the wee hours of the night. The location is none better. The porch is so nice every morning and every evening. Every room has a bathroom, and there’s perfect privacy. Oh, by the way, stargazing? Incredible on the top. And if you don’t want to star gaze , Then just hang out in the backyard where you feel like you are in Costa Rica jungle. Wonderful.

Sunny Days is a wonderful home that will accommodate your party of 10 nicely w/out tripping over one another. The house was clean and linens were plentiful. The kitchen could use some help. For a party of 10, we do a lot of cooking, there are some basics the house is lacking-casserole dishes and larger sized pots & pans, so I expect that will be corrected. However, if you stay on Andy Rosse, you were probably planning on walking to lunch and dinner anyway. Some great restaurants are just out the front door. Kudos to American Realty: we had an issue with the septic tank and Albert himself came by to check it out and within two hours we had a company there pumping out our tank, now that is responsive service!!

It was a perfect week at Sunny Days! This property is beautiful and well appointed with serveware, beach toys, technology, decor and more. We wish there had been some extra blankets for the bedrooms and there was a broken toilet paper holder, but other than those minor issues, it was absolutely perfect for our family of 6.

The sun deck was perfect for a quiet escape and the outdoor pool was lovely with plenty of opportunity for sun.

Stayed at Sunny Days on Captiva for two weeks. One with kids and grandkids and one with group of friends. Beautiful house, walking distance to beach, bay, restaurants and shopping. Everyone had a great time.
Could use some beach chairs...all were broken.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week in Captiva after waiting 3 years to come back following the hurricane.There were 8 adults & one infant and this home suited our space needs beautifully.

The house is conveniently located on Andy Rosse Lane, an easy walking distance from the beach, restaurants, & shops.The property is well-landscaped & private with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, & a perfect mix of quiet spaces & gathering spaces. The pool and hot tub are great & the basement was like its own little apartment for my daughter, her husband & their 8 mth old. The extra fridge in the garage was also helpful.

We didn't use the elevator, but it's a nice feature for those who need it. There were books, puzzles & games in the family room that we didn't use because the weather was beautiful each day.

The only thing I found disappointing was the lack of kitchn supplies (not even salt & pepper) & there were barely enough pool towels provided so it was a constant struggle to have dry towels each day. This was the first time in 30yrs of visits to Captiva where our rental had nothing in the way of pool accessories like "noodles" or inflatables. There was a cart for hauling stuff to the beach but only a handful of beach chairs & one had a broken armrest. Other homes we've rented always had a few spices, cooking oil, a few coffee filters, etc. I would probably still book this house again, but will factor in the extra costs when choosing where to stay.

Overall, I would recommend this house for large groups/families. Happy to see the island rebounding after Hurricane Ian & glad to support the rebuilding.

Our family has been visiting Captiva for about 10 years. We've stayed at three different places, all very nice. Sunny Days is a beautiful house right in the middle of it all! Very comfortable, clean, well kept home. Plenty of room for everyone. American Realty of Captiva is very helpful. We enjoyed the Key Lime Bistro (shrimp to shore bloody Mary), Cantina Captiva (its all good), The Green Flash (corn chowder is beyond compare), and Boops (cakes and ice cream). Went to the Tuesday Farmer's Market and did lots of shopping. We miss the Mucky Duck and having Doc Fords at South Seas. We always rent a golf cart; this was our second year with Salty Wheels - they are easy to work with and very helpful. We even did a fun jet ski tour with YOLO this year. We booked our next stay before we left!

I don't know how I could begin to describe how perfect this house was for us and our family! We came to celebrate our anniversary and Lisa was the perfect contact for us! This home had the space we needed for each one of us! The pool was well tended to. The property was the perfect distance to the beach and to the cruise boat pier! We had a marvelous time! We can't wait to return!

We loved our stay at Sunny Days! The home is bright and beautiful and fully stocked with everything you'll need for your stay. There are multiple outside places to hangout and enjoy the scenery and I loved how everyone had their own private bathroom. The first day we did encounter some issues, like the handle in the master bathroom shower being a bit difficult (we didn't want to rip it off, but turns out it just needed to be manhandled a bit) and our spa not heating up. However, the team was quick to fix the issue and we had a heated spa within 4 hours.

I hope to come back and stay at Sunny Days again next year. We really enjoyed the area, it's super convenient and in walking distance to everything.

Our family had a wonderful week staying in Sunny Days. Our trip was postponed twice due to hurricanes, so we were very excited to finally get to go. The house was better than we imagined. It was clean, spacious and lovely. Everyone enjoyed the pool and short walk to the beach. Nearby restaurants were excellent and shops were fun to browse.
There were a couple issues when we first got to the house which were immediately taken care of by management company staff. They were also very helpful and responsive during rebooking after the hurricanes.
Our group age range was grandparents to toddlers, everyone had a
wonderful time and looks forward to returning.

American Captiva Rental was an amazing company. I worked closely with Lisa who assisted me from the very beginning of booking this property I found on VRBO. Her kindness and willingness to be available at all times really made the difference in setting up and during our time on vacation. I would recommend using this agency for your travels to Sanibel/Captiva Island. The house was beautiful inside and out. The inside was true beach vibes and the outside was like a lush tropical private escape. The walk to the beach was right down the street for about 2 minutes. Loved every minute.

We had a blast at Sunny Days. The home was clean and very spacious. Five bedrooms all with ensuites, perfectly comfortable beds, large kitchen with lots of items you need when cooking. Pool was wonderful. The best part was American Realty. Lisa and Alan were super accommodating, professional and friendly. I would definitely book with them again.

The house was clean and well stocked with linens. It was only about 1/2 block from the beach. The pool was a little hot but with the beach so close we didn’t use the pool that much. I would definitely book this house again.

Couldnt have been more pleased with accommodations and American Realty of Captiva. No matter how small the request (pool heat to more gas for the grill) someone was taking care of it immediately. Weather was perfect!! Had a great week with my family and friends!

This year we added another couple to our trip. Sunny Days did not disappoint. The house was perfect and we used every amenity! The keurig was a lifesaver, the location was great and we really appreciated all the beach toys left behind.

The home was very nice, however, the pool gets no sun. The back is overgrown and has too much shade. The door lock from the master bedroom to the screen porch is broken.

Overall the stay was great. The maintenance people responded quickly when the air conditioning stopped working upstairs and the disposal clogged.
A few comments to improve the property for future guests:
1. the kitchen was very minimally stocked. We bought our own salad spinner on amazon. The pots were small and the knives were beyond dull. Not great for families who like to cook.
2. The pool was pretty shady. The trees felt overgrown.
3. The queen bed on the first floor wasn't great. The headboard banged around when you sat on the bed
4. Only 8 beach towels in the house and they were on the small side. Would have been nice to have a few more better quality beach towels.

We stayed at Sunny Days the week after Thanksgiving 2020. We planned to work and do remote school from the property. The home is great - very spacious for 4 people (2 adults and 2 teens). The bedrooms were large and each had their own bathroom...the master bath in particular was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked and the large desk in the kitchen was very useful! We didn't use the pool as much as we had planned because we were busy with work but the hot tub was fun at night or during a few of the cool days. We had a few minor issues when we arrived (the front steps and back porch were sandy/dirty, the grill didn't have propane in it and we weren't able to find beach towels until day 3. Other than that we enjoyed our week at the property. Unfortunately several days after we checked out we heard from American Realty that we were being accused of damaging the living room couch at Sunny Days. I recall the couch sagging a bit in the middle but never tried to figure out why as there were other places in the living room to sit and we really didn't spend much time in there during the week. I went back and forth with American Realty explaining that we didn't damage the couch and that it was likely wear and tear over the months (the couch is an off white color and was pretty stained). It was clear that the couch wasn't new when we arrived. American Realty decided in the end to keep our $500 security deposit. This was frustrating because we didn't do anything to the couch. I would highly suggest anyone that has to rent through American Realty do it with extreme caution. I would recommend investigating the entire rental property and reporting any issues (small or big) in a written email so that you do not lose your security deposit like we did. I would only recommend Sunny Days to friends if they are aware of the challenges that you could face with American Realty. Captiva is a beautiful island!

Pros:
-Great location!
-House had a great layout so everyone had privacy
-Basement offered lots of entertainment options
-Didn't lack for anything in the way of linens and kitchen (except maybe a cutting board)
-Rental company quick to switch out empty propane tank

Cons:
-Bug issues throughout the week in multiple rooms (ants/palmettos/etc)
-Strong sewage smell in the backyard made pool time barely tolerable
-Would have been nice if rental company gave a heads up about planned beach closure down the street. We could have planned out our time better and switched some activities around.
