Sol Mate

Absolutely loved our recent stay at Sol Mate! Being our first trip back since Ian, we were concerned about what the condition of the island and the property might be. Although much of the island vegetation is still in recovery, we were pleasantly surprised that this property and much of the surrounding area landscaping was in good shape. The house was really nice - great location, beachfront with beautiful Gulf views from the upper and lower levels and close to the heart of the island with shopping and dining options. The kitchen is well equipped with nice appliances (including two dishwashers) and there is a new gas grill outside. All bathrooms have been recently remodeled. And the layout is perfect for multiple couples/families with separated bedrooms/bathrooms and centrally located common areas. We were glad to see that the outdoor shower and boardwalk to the beach are still intact. Additionally, there was beach equipment available, including multiple (8-10) new beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We’ve been so happy using American Realty of Captiva for the last 20 years. Lisa Wheeler and her staff have been awesome! We can’t wait to return to the island to enjoy the beautiful beach, awesome shelling, and gorgeous sunsets, and we will definitely stay at this property again!

perfect home on the beach for our large family - lovely and not "too fancy" which with 4 toddlers was exactly what we were wanting. we are coming back. we have too - we left so many beach toys there!!!

The house was perfect for our group. Even minor issues, like a malfunctioning garbage disposal and ants/palmetto bugs - were resolved quickly.

It was an overall fantastic experience.

A couple of pieces of feedback that I received from the rest of those who attended are: 1-a few of the mattresses needed to be updated. 2-There were very limited beach chair options. How many of the ones under the house we’re in really bad shape.

Again, we had an overall fantastic experience and look forward to coming back next year. With those changes, it would have been a perfect score.

The unit was very clean as before. The A/C went out once in the evening, and a repairman was there within an hour and fixed it. Very good service.
The location is perfect, easy access to the beach, beautiful view and very well maintained and the unit had all the necessary amenities, excellent kitchen equipment, etc.

The matresses were very comfortable, all though the bedroom on the ground floor didn't seem as cool as the other rooms.

As for the temperatures, the main floor was very cool and the upstairs was warmer. That's to be expected, but it was necesssary to keep the units a little cooler than I would have liked to accomodate the upstairs as well.

In summary, this is an excellent rental property, very well maintained, first class, ample kitchenware, lightening, everything in perfect condition.

Our families were able to enjoy and relax at Solmate and disconnect from our stress of day to day life. The sunsets were beautiful, local dining was excellent and the beach was beautiful. We are all looking forward returning soon.

The house has a great set up. All rooms have easy semi private access to bathrooms. Bedrooms are well separated for privacy. Great living space with very well equipped kitchen. Loved the outdoor shower to clean up coming off the beach. Easy walking distance to shopping and dining.

Having been a home owner at Captiva many years ago, I appreciate the quality of the house we stayed in. On the beach, easy walk, all amenities provided, a perfect vacation as always. American Realty is first class and assisted with any questions or needs.

We have stayed here 4 times now and this was by far the best. The house is in wonderful shape and the grounds are beautiful even after Ian. They have stocked the kitchen with everything you need and whole place is so clean and perfect.

JUST WANTED TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT FOR "SOL MATE" WHERE WE STAYED DEC. 16-23. THERE WERE THREE GENERATIONS OF US FROM FOUR DIFFERENT STATES AND THE HOUSE ACCOMMODATED OUR NEEDS BEAUTIFULLY. IT'S DECORATED SO TASTEFULLY AND DESIGNED FOR COMFORT AND INTERACTION. THE KITCHEN IS A DREAM--TWO SINKS, TWO DISHWASHERS AND TWO REFRIGERATORS AND UNBELIEVABLE CABINET SPACE AND ENDLESS KITCHEN SUPPLIES AND COOKWARE. (THE ONLY THING WE WERE UNABLE TO FIND WAS A MEAT THERMOMETER!) THE SCREENED-IN PORCHES, OUR PRIVATE BOARD WALK TO THE BEACH LITERALLY RIGHT OUT THE FRONT DOOR, A SHORT WALK TO ANDY ROSSE,THE TIKI HUT SHOWER--WERE ALL WONDERFUL!! I DON'T THINK THERE'S A BETTER HOUSE OR LOCATION ON THE ISLAND--WE'VE ALREADY MADE OUR RESERVATION FOR NEXT YEAR. CAPTIVA IS DEFINITELY "BACK" AND AS BEAUTIFUL AS EVER. (AND AMERICAN REALTY COULDN'T BE NICER TO WORK WITH!!)

We've been vacationing on Captiva since 2005. This year we had family members from CAlifornia,
Colorado, Virginia and Miami--our grown grandchildren refuse to go elsewhere!! We've also rented many houses on the island but Sol Mate is by far our favorite. It is beautifully decorated, designed to bring people together, has a fabulous kitchen, an almost private beach and yet is located close to everything you might want to do! It is always immaculate and the staff couldn't be nicer to work with. It is a gem -- we had a fabulous week!

Location great. Coldand hot faucets next to master downstairs filpped. Screen door on porch not working properly. House is showing its age.
We were not contacted by ARC the whole two weeks of rental.

Great House and incredible location. Only drawback was no pool but being right on the beach was great and the layout is perfect for a big group. Everything is updated except for the bedrooms which are little old and tired.
