Nirvana

Overall, our stay was wonderful! The house is beautiful with many amenities and is described accurately. We enjoyed the pool immensely after a hard day at the beach. Upon arrival, the house was very clean but there were a few minor maintenance issues. However, they were addressed quickly when we called them in. Our only suggestion is that there should be drapes installed-especially in the bedrooms. It is bright in the morning and even at night with just the sheer shades and it makes everything echo throughout the house.

Based on previous reviews, I wasn't expecting much. I can only surmise that previous renters had unrealistic expectations. I found the property to be delightful! Loved the location, the privacy, the pool and spa, the enormous screened porch, and the balcony off the master bedroom. The bed and furniture were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Definitely recommend this rental!

A lovely 3 bedroom 3 bath home on an ideal stretch of beach near the great shelling at Blind Pass. The rental company is very responsive. Home is very well maintained. We have stayed here multiple times. Captiva is a quiet peace of heaven - beyond the crowd in Sanibel.

American Realty makes it very easy - and also worked with us extensively to help nail down Nirvana in the midst of the pandemic. Check-in was easy, whenever we had questions they responded quickly, and the house was in great shape when we arrived. Though its front is near the road, the house is totally configured towards the back and the gulf so you spend the vast majority of your time in the family room and massive screen porch facing the Gulf. It's a great vacation house and we had a great vacation experience (as usual) with American Realty.

We have stayed in Nirvana a couple times. It is a very nice house with amazing views of the beach and beautiful sunsets.

The location right on the ocean is amazing as we watched the sunset every evening. The house seems almost brand new with updated finishes throughout. Loved the hot tub and pool as well.

The pictures of this house don’t do it justice. The view is amazing and the finishes are top notch. The walk to the beach was short and the beach was private and relaxing.

This, our second stay at Nirvana Sunset was glorious. The home has been renovated ( though oddly ‘80’s era furniture has been used in bedrooms), it remains a comfortable, roomy, scenic locale. Though not his Kan’s remain scarred by Ian, they are well on the way back. There are several restaurants operating, many stores are up & running, and there is an eager gratefulness to tourists who have returned. It is so wonderful, we extended our stay for next year.

This home is fantastic. It was beautiful inside and outside. The cleaning was the best we have ever experienced in a vacation rental. This is our 20th family vacation, and we always like to go to a different location each year. This was the first time my family is considering coming back to this same house. THIS HOME IS REALLY GOOD! In addition to being a great house, it is on a stretch of uncrowded beach. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

This home is lovely. 2 ensuite bedrooms with king beds...one on the upper floor. There is also a bedroom with bunk beds (queen/twin) that has its own bathroom in the hallway. Screened in porch. Great views from the kitchen, 2 ensuites and porch. Lovely kitchen - well equipped. Overall a top-notch rental home.

Easy walk along the beach to Turner Beach where the shelling is great. And you can walk across the bridge to the other side (Blind Pass beach) where shelling is also good. If you are here for shelling, you'll love this.

Management company (American Realty) is great to work with. They are quick to respond to any questions and to fix anything that is an issue.

My only complaint this year was that the bugs were worse than usual due to the hurricanes. Hopefully this will rapidly resolve.

This is the 4th Captiva beach home we've rented over the last 10 years. This was our favorite. Two gripes... the mattress in the master bedroom was completely broken down and had no box springs under it. Very surprising given the cost of this weekly rental. As good as the house was, the master bed was as equally bad. Also, the dishwasher did not wash dishes at all. We did call maintenance the last day of our rental just to make sure they were aware. All in all, this house is great. Just these two cheap fixes and we would have had zero complaints.

Freshly redone - very lovely. New appliances, new floors, etc. Well-stocked with quality kitchen equipment for those who want to cook. Great beaches for shelling (Turner and Blind Pass). You can walk across the bridge to Blind Pass. Management does a great job.

Great place, on the beach. Lots of birds, even a bald eagle hung out in the tree in front of the house. Shelling was good. Would recommend, very comfortable home.

The home is located directly on the beach.
There was amazing sunsets every night.
The pool and hot tub are very convenient.
The home was in good condition and very clean.
Plenty of beach towels for our large family. American Reality was easy to reach and friendly.
We will be back!

This, our visit, was tremendously enjoyable. With renovations underway, it’s even better. Captiva is a gem, and Sanibel predominately a nature reserve,keeps Old Florida alive.
There are restaurants aplenty, activities for weeks, it’s our go-to place in Florida.

We loved our stay in this home, it was lovely and in a perfect location. Our party included a small child and older adults and this was a good house for everyone. The pool and screened deck were great, and we enjoyed the proximity to the beach.

This location is all about the views and beach access. Dream location on captiva. The back porch and pool area was amazing. The house could use some tlc inside. Only negative is the bugs. House was full of bugs by day 4 and most of us had multiple bug bites.

It was quite nice and the view lovely. However, it was quite close to a public beach and very close to the road. It certainly needed a lot of work done to the house. - both inside and out.

Overall, this is a wonderful spot, with tremendous views. The house is spacious & has a homey comfy feel. The pool & hot tub were used daily & the beach was great day & for sunsets.
However, the house is showing its age , inside & out. Paint is peeling everywhere, rust throughout, doors are swollen, windows opaque, furnishings are dated & tired.
Pool & hot tub are chipped & wood deckings are in need of stain.
All that said, we booked again next year, as property manager acknowledged need for updates & promised renovations were upcoming .

The house was on an absolutely fantastic piece of property. There was a huge lanai that was the length of the house which is considerable. The best weather I’ve ever had in Captiva on any vacation. Challenges there were a few. First thing we noticed is 1 . The refrigerator was not keeping the food cold and they sent over the appliance repair man who did a fabulous immediate job . 2. Is that we could not get towels to dry they kept sending people over to fix it that didn’t have a clue. The pool was filthy and the maintenance guy kept telling me it was good I own a pool I know a clean pool. they didn’t even have the filter on. Once we do did get everything remedied which took a good half of our vacation we had a most wonderful time. Going to give it another try for 2023

We have used American Reality for a number of years.While it was an okay location, the pool was not clean and was not working properly and American Reality basically blamed us. For the kind of money spent I would not expect the pool problem or the response.

Decent property. Not cheap to rent. So why are these must-haves neglected?

Pool water remained stagnant most of the time. When the filter was re-set by us, the water movement was slow. The pool water was hot. Not refreshing at all. Floating in leaves, dead flowers and bugs. The landscaping around the pool was beautiful and fragrant. Noise from the road while in the pool was bothersome.

The views of the ocean from the kitchen, living room and back deck were stunning. The kitchen cabinets handles, and surrounding cabinets were grimy and sticky. Drawers need wiped out and scrubbed. Small appliances and dishware are adequate. Worn and older. The refrigerator was big and kept items nice and cold.

Patch old holes and paint. Walls are nicked up.

Bathrooms are smallish. Toilets are low, low to the ground. Drawers in bathroom had random Q-tips and stray long hair in them. Clean it please.

MBR is spacious. Need blinds on the window for late sleepers. Currently has sheer curtains that are missing tabs and hang askew. Closet has dark spots on ceiling. Did not hand clothes there.

Other bedroom closet doors swing out off the top rails. Holes in walls by the bed where I assume sconce lights used to be.

Cannot smoke cigars on the deck or pool area. We did not. Do enjoy a drink and cigar as the sun sets so had to go to the beach. Keep that in mind.

Layout of the house is great. Full sized washer and dryer worked wonderfully.
Cheap on the dishwasher tabs as we were left only 4 and were requested to wash the last load before we left. Squeaked by with the amount of toilet paper. Kitchen table is large and glass. No cleaning stuff to clean it so we bought some. I mean come on. A little more consideration is all that is needed.

Would not rent again as I don't like to stay in vacation places that are 'less than' my home environment. Deep cleaned and painted should be a

we rented Nirvana for a week with my parents, sister and 2 daughters, and it was amazing all the way around. Perfect location, steps from beach, wonderful pool, patio where you can see the beach....perfect for our group. The house could use some improvement (holes in wall, needs paint) We will be back....
