We can recommend Almost Heaven in every way. The house is beautifully located, was totally clean and also the service worked out well. There was always someone available. We were there just before the hurricane Ian and we felt very well taken care of. Unfortunately, we had to leave the island early because of the hurricane. We deeply regret that the island was so affected. We hope that the whole team is doing well and that no one was harmed. We also very much hope that no major damage was done to the house. Thanks again!

Captiva Island is a Paradise and Almost Heaven was a perfect vacation spot on the island. The house was stocked with all amenities including a sharp knife (this is important when cooking), ample pots and pans and cooking utensils, two coffee makes including a k-cup and a 12 cup pot, clean beach towels, beach chairs, a beach cart, even jewelry trays by the bedside. The house is decorated nicely and was clean. It’s important to know you have to cross a two lane road to get to the beach—it’s the only road on the island and not a lot of traffic so an easy cross but important for family with little children. The beach in front of the house is spectacular and almost private because there are only a few houses and no condos —we experienced manatees swimming close enough we could reach out and touch them (they won’t hurt you but don’t touch them). We stayed in July and the back yard was overrun with misquotes and no-see-ums so we did not get to use the backyard oasis. I would have loved to as there was a grill, large table, clean pool and beautiful landscape. We did experience a plumbing back up during our stay which also prevented us from using the outdoor shower, however, management responded promptly and resolved the issue with professionalism — it was the 4th of July weekend and they made the repair happen despite the holiday!

I would 100% recommend the property but I wouldn’t go in July—it was too buggy to enjoy the night.

We loved everything about our stay in this wonderful home. The house was very clean, spacious and beautiful. The grounds and heated pool were great for our January trip. Less than 1 minute walk to beach and a short walk to the Village area. Management company was very helpful, friendly and responsive. We will definitely return again. Highly recommend.

Property great except for window shade in master bedroom; not expected to be replaced - $$. pool deck great with shade and sun. location great. access to beach is across the street but easier than expected. kitchen well stocked with essentials.

We had a wonderful time at Almost Heaven. It is a lovely home in a quiet, convenient location away from the busyness of the town yet very convenient.
It is well equipped with everything we needed. The proximity to the beach is wonderful and many happy hours were spent in the pool and spa.

Almost Heaven was the perfect fit for our family. Everything was perfect. We were a family of 10 adults and enjoyed dinners, and games at the perfect large kitchen table. Very clean, short walk to the beach and Captiva stores and restaurants. Highly recommend.

So close to the beach and practically had the beach to ourselves most days. Half mile walk to shops and restaurants. The minor inconveniences included slow drains in the bathroom, outlets by vanities not working, dryer took forever to dry laundry, and we wished there was more beach accessories...one beach chair and six adults.

Loved staying here with our children and grandchildren! The house is large with plenty of space for everyone and the pool was great, private, and kept at the perfect temperature. The house was clean with only minor wear and tear. Loved the location and walked to the beach everyday. Close to everything you would want to do in the Captiva village! We only had a few minor issues that were handled promptly and professionally. We worked with Albert and he was so accommodating and he promptly answered any questions we had. I had also communicated with Albert prior to our trip and he always answered my questions. I’ve rented many properties in Florida and American Realty Group was superior to all other property management companies I’ve encountered.

The home was located in a great spot, near The Green Flash. Access to the beach was very good; we walked down the long driveway, crossed Captiva Dr (which did not have heavy traffic), and we were on the beach! The home was very nice and met our needs for space. We enjoyed the ping pong table in the garage. There was plenty equipment for the beach -- 8 or 10 beach chairs in very good condition, 2 beach wagons, lots of beach towels, and a cooler. As we were packing up to leave, we found a Pack-N-Play. It would have been nice to know that it was there. The kitchen had adequate supplies, as did bathrooms. Want to note that Albert was very helpful when we called him with questions.

Our family, age 9 months - 84 years had a fabulous time at Almost Heaven. The GM from American Realty group of Captiva did a phenomenal job getting everything ready for us. We've been to the island annually for 30 years and yes.. this year is devastating due to the hurricane damage. We still enjoyed it & will be back next year!

My family has stayed at this house 5 times for the simple reason that it has beautiful views of the ocean and easy access. The house is comfortable and has wonderful amenities as far as a beach house goes. Every time we’re there it’s relaxing and easy to enjoy. Plenty of room for my family and would recommend to anyone looking to see the island for the first time. Property management is on point with any issues and takes care of guests if there’s any issues. Couldn’t be happier with my stay each time I’ve been there. We love Almost Heaven.

Our three-generation family stayed at Almost Heaven during President's Week 2020. The kids were ages 3-8 and had a great time at the beautiful pool and the beach across the street. Lots of shells to bring home.
The layout of the house offered lots of room and privacy. We called management to fix the pool lights and the house music system. The response was quick and we enjoyed the improvements.
Recommendations to make it better:
-Paper products that were supplied were stingy for this high level of property.
-The AC in the two bedrooms on the first floor was not working well.
-The dishwasher is ready for a replacement.

We've stayed at Almost Heaven many times over the past decade and it never disappoints. The home, pool, and hot tub were clean and well maintained, and the property is exactly as described. We love how close it is to the beach and Green Flash! The putting green and cornhole boards were awesome bonuses! American Realty was pleasant and very helpful as always. Thank you for letting us stay and we look forward to visiting again!

The house and location were perfect and we were completely satisfied until the parade of repair and maintenance men started. We had 5 to fix air conditioner, remotes etc
Then the worst were the tree trimmers blocking the driveway with loud machines. Don't want to complain but all of this made our vao a bit less wonderful. Alan and American Realty were always available and ready to assist

It was a really enjoyable experience. Only issues with the property was the beds where all extremely hard. One even had a plastic wrap around it which made it sleep hot. The house stereo system should be explained as to how to us it. Out side of that it is in great location and very nice. Will be staying there again next year.

I would give this experience a B. The location was good, but the house did not live up to our expectations. For the price we paid, it should have been more up to date and cleaner. The furniture in the living area was filthy and very uncomfortable. The ice maker was not reliable and the dishwasher was missing most of the prongs, which made it very hard to use. A lot of the mattresses were squeaky and not very comfortable. We were not able to use the sound system, left a message with the realty company for help with it, but got no response. If the furniture was updated, house gone through and fixed the little things it would be great (broken blinds, drainspouts missing, doors hard to lock/unlock...). Great location.
