☀️ Welcome to A Shore Thing — where your Captiva Island escape truly begins! Nestled on peaceful Gore Lane in the heart of Captiva Village, this gorgeous 4-bedroom vacation home puts you just 400 feet from the stunning white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. ️ That's a two-minute barefoot stroll to paradise — and once you feel that warm sand between your toes, you'll understand why guests return year after year.

A Shore Thing is designed for families and groups who want it all — space, style, and that quintessential island vibe. The home comfortably sleeps 8 guests across four beautifully appointed bedrooms featuring three king beds and two twin beds, plus three full bathrooms to keep everyone fresh after a sun-drenched day. No waiting in line for the shower here!

Step outside and discover your very own private heated pool — a sparkling retreat surrounded by lush tropical landscaping that gives you the privacy and relaxation you deserve. Fire up the gas grill and enjoy an al fresco dinner under the stars while the kids splash and play. Captiva evenings don't get much better than this.

Inside, a fully equipped kitchen means you can start each morning with a freshly brewed Keurig coffee and cook up a feast whenever the mood strikes. Central air conditioning keeps things cool even on the hottest Florida afternoons, and all linens and beach towels are provided — because you came here to relax, not to pack heavy. A washer and dryer are on-site too, making longer stays an absolute breeze.

High-speed WiFi keeps everyone connected (when they want to be), and beach chairs and umbrellas are included so you can claim your perfect spot on the sand without lugging anything from home.

The location on Gore Lane is truly special — you're in the Captiva Village area, which means the island's beloved restaurants, boutique shops, and waterfront activities are just a short stroll away. Whether you're grabbing a sunset cocktail at the Mucky Duck, exploring the galleries on Andy Rosse Lane, or kayaking through the mangroves, you'll never run out of things to do.

A Shore Thing is a non-smoking property, ensuring a fresh and pleasant environment for all guests. Whether you're celebrating a family reunion, a romantic getaway for two couples, or simply escaping the cold for a week of sunshine, this home delivers the full Captiva experience with style and ease.

Great Location, Private, Relaxing Setting
A Shore Thing was a great home located in a quiet setting very close to a wonderful beach. The home was very clean and functional. Comfortable spacious bedrooms. The backyard is very private and spacious. Very easy walk to the center of the village and all that Captiva has to offer. Highly recommend for smaller groups/ families and will definitely be back!

Sun, sun, sun
I want to give a bad report so no one else will rent it so we can rent it for longer periods. :>))

After renting in Captiva for over 20 years, this has become our favorite spot because of its location close to everything, a sunny pool area, beautiful yard, and no stairs. It is not ritzy, just very comfortable. Management was quick to respond to service requests. the only negative is the squeaky kids in pools nearby houses.

My Happy place
Every time we come down to Captiva we have a new experience. It is the most amazing place to just relax and take in all the sand, water and wildlife. I couldn’t ask for a more peaceful time than what I have on Captiva.

My Happy Place
This house is the best setup for our family especially the private backyard & pool. The location is great as it is a stone's throw from entrance to beach, walking distance to village and the Chapel. The only thing I would suggest is upgrading the furniture especially beds as they appear to be old and extremely soft mattresses.

A great deal
We spent a week at A Shore Thing and enjoyed it very much. The house was clean, well furnished and private. The only negative was that the two queen beds were quite squeaky and turning over at night would make enough noise to awaken a light sleeper. Its nearness to the beach was a real plus. The grill needed a good wire brush that wasn't available but it was still usable. The pool was used many times a day, even in cool weather. The pool rake had a hole in it that made getting leaves out of the water a small problem. We hope to return again next year.

Our Favorite Place on Captiva!
This is a very well maintained ranch home in THE best neighborhood on Captiva Island. The entire back yard is enclosed in a true garden wall. The pool, patio and lovely lawn are completely private. On the few days we were there that the beach was a tad windy, this enclosed back yard blocked the wind and was a wonderful option to have. Beautiful home and lawn but the best thing about this place is the location. Truly steps from the beach access. Can’t say enough!

Perfect location
We enjoy every vacation at A Shore Thing on Captiva. The home has a great Village location and is very close to the beach. Our favorite thing is the pool is in a beautifully landscaped backyard and in the sun! The owner and property manager are very helpful and accommodating when needed. We highly recommend A Shore Thing and can’t wait for our next visit.

Good Times
Sunniest pool area of any place we've stayed in the last 20 years on Captiva.....great location, friendly owner (texting), landscaping beautiful and well maintained, pool temp 88, ample kitchen stuff, lots of beach items. Quirks...electric switches may not be where you'd expect (same disposal...low light levels. Would rent every year if possible.

Tripping the Light Fandango
After 20+ years renting on Captiva, we finally found a ranch with a sunny pool. Stayed five weeks. Nice management peoples, ditto the owner via texting. Problem we had was tripping over sunken rooms and sidewalks......many near misses on falls. Also pool didn't have a rail on its steps. We'd rent again but would have 911 standing by. :>))

Nice location
Nice location. Older property that could use updates. Management showed up when things went wrong, and things did go wrong.
